FAQs

A few things to know
before you arrive.

Find the details that help make your stay feel easy from the start.

Your room and the inn.

What is included in my room?

Each of our three suites has a king bed with a new luxury mattress and bamboo bedding, a private bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and separate standing shower, a coffee and tea bar, a mini fridge, a safe, an Amazon Echo Dot, and a Bluetooth speaker. You will have a private door to your suite from inside the inn and a private door in your room to the outdoor balcony. Guests can also enjoy the inn’s shared spaces.

What spaces can guests use?

You are welcome to enjoy the Conservatory, Menagerie, Study, and Library during your stay. In the shared dining room (the Menagerie), you will find a coffee station, refrigerator, microwave, and toaster. These spaces are for registered inn guests to enjoy together.

Can I cook at the inn?

Guests can use the shared dining room’s microwave, toaster, coffee station, and refrigerator. Individual suites do not include a kitchen or cooking facilities. Guests do not have access to the full kitchen unless they are staying for a whole-inn buyout.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes, we have free high-speed Wi-Fi available throughout the inn, and the details to connect will be included in your arrival information.

Is breakfast included?

Breakfast is not automatically included, but you can add it to your stay. Please request it at least one day in advance so we have time to plan. If you would rather explore town, there are several breakfast spots a short walk from the inn. Explore places to eat in Luray

Can you arrange something special for my stay?

Yes! If you are celebrating, planning a surprise, or hoping to add a particular experience, contact us before your stay. We will let you know what is possible, what it costs, and what we can confirm for your dates. Contact us

We’re also building out special packages you can add on to your stay directly during the booking or pre-arrival process.

What is not included in a room reservation?

A room reservation does not include exclusive use of the inn, a private event, attraction tickets, or future Alchemy experiences. Only registered guests may use the inn’s shared spaces. If you would like to bring others together at the property, please ask us about a whole inn stay or private gathering. Explore whole inn stays

Are children welcome?

Yes. One child may stay with the adults in an individual suite, provided the reservation remains within that room’s maximum occupancy. Please bring any crib or other child equipment you need; we do not provide cribs. Children are also welcome on whole inn stays, subject to the confirmed occupancy and sleeping arrangements.

Arrival and practical details.

When can I check in and out?

Self-check-in begins at 3 p.m., and checkout is by 11 a.m. Your pre-arrival information will explain how to use the smart lock. If you would like to arrive early or leave later, contact us ahead of time. We can let you know whether an adjustment is possible for your dates.

Can I arrive late?

Yes. Once check-in begins at 3 p.m., you can use your arrival instructions and smart-lock access to enter at a time that suits your travel plans. Please be considerate of other guests if you arrive late at night.

Will someone be at the inn if I need help?

We are often at the inn, although we are not on site at every hour. Your arrival information will include the best way to reach us during your stay and what to do if you need urgent help. We can arrange for someone to come to the property when an in-person response is needed.

Where should I park?

The inn has a private driveway. Follow the directions in your arrival information for where to pull in and park. If you expect to bring more than one vehicle, please contact us before your stay so we can plan.

Is the inn accessible?

All three guest suites are on the second floor and require stairs; we do not have a step-free guest suite. For some whole inn stays, a first floor sleeping arrangement may be possible by advance agreement. Please contact us before booking with your specific access needs so we can describe the property accurately and discuss whether the arrangement would work for you.

Getting here and exploring Luray.

Where is Blue Ridge Botanica?

We are at 138 E Main Street, Luray, Virginia 22835, close to downtown places to eat and explore.

Which airport should I consider?

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is one practical option for travelers flying in. Compare routes and fares with other regional airports and plan for ground transportation to Luray.

Do you offer transportation?

We do not offer transportation to or from the inn.

How close is Luray Caverns?

Luray Caverns is about a five-minute drive from the inn. Travel times may vary.

How do I get to Shenandoah National Park?

For Skyline Drive, Thornton Gap Entrance Station is the convenient entrance from Luray. It is east of town along US-211, roughly nine miles and about a 15-minute drive from the inn. Follow signs for Skyline Drive and allow more time if you are continuing to a trailhead or overlook inside the park. Official park directions

What should I check before a park visit?

Check current conditions, entrance fees, and any trail-specific requirements before setting out. Old Rag is a separate outing from entering Skyline Drive at Thornton Gap and requires an advance day-use ticket during its ticketed season, in addition to the park entrance fee. Plan that visit using the National Park Service’s current guidance. Park conditions and planning · Old Rag ticket details

Booking and changes of plan.

How do I book a suite?

Choose your dates on our booking site, then select an available suite and complete checkout. Once your reservation is confirmed, keep your confirmation details handy for your trip. See rooms and availability

When is payment due?

We charge 50% of the reservation total when you book and the remaining 50% on the first day of your stay. Review the payment schedule and full price breakdown shown at checkout and in your reservation confirmation.

Are taxes and fees included in the price?

The booking site shows the full price breakdown, including applicable taxes and fees, before you confirm your reservation. Please review the total at checkout; contact us if anything is unclear.

Is there a minimum stay?

Some holiday and high-season weekends require a two-night minimum. Search your dates to see the stay length and terms that apply before booking.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

If you cancel at least 14 days before arrival, you receive a full refund less a $25 cancellation fee. If you cancel 7–13 days before arrival, you receive a 50% refund less the $25 fee. Cancellations fewer than seven days before arrival, no-shows, and early departures are non-refundable. Any different terms for your dates will be shown when you book.

What if you can rebook my cancelled room?

Because Blue Ridge Botanica is a three-room inn, last-minute cancellations have a significant impact on our small business. Our standard cancellation policy still applies, but if we can fill your cancelled room for the same dates, we may be able to offer an additional refund. We will confirm any additional amount with you in writing.

Do special dates have different terms?

Some holidays, special events, and peak-season dates may have different minimum stays, payment schedules, or cancellation terms. Please review the terms displayed for your dates before confirming your reservation.

Can I reserve the whole inn?

Yes. A whole inn stay brings your group together across all three suites while giving you the shared spaces to enjoy together. Please inquire so we can confirm the dates, occupancy, and arrangements that fit your plans. Booking one or two suites does not reserve the rest of the inn. Ask about a whole inn stay

A thoughtful stay for everyone.

Will I hear any neighborhood sounds?

Blue Ridge Botanica is in the heart of a small town, a block from the railway and the local volunteer fire department. You may hear a train or a siren during your stay, including the fire siren every day around noon to remind the town it’s lunch time. We want you to know what to expect when staying in a historic Main Street setting.

Is smoking allowed?

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside any of the inn’s buildings. Please ask us where outdoor smoking is permitted.

Can I bring a pet?

We love animals, but guest pets are not permitted at the inn.

Guests traveling with service animals are welcome, but please contact us in advance so we can help prepare for your stay.

Can I invite visitors or host an event?

If you reserve one or two suites, only the guests named on the reservation may use the inn’s shared spaces. For a whole inn stay, please speak with us before inviting additional visitors or planning a private event. We will discuss the group size, how you would use the spaces, and any separate arrangements or cost. Explore gatherings
